Enware managing director Adam Degnan, left and executive chairman Paul Degnan, right, cut the cake at the 75th anniversary celebrations.

One Australian manufacturer has beaten the odds and been able to innovate and steadily expand its operations since its humble beginnings 75 years ago. Specialists in tapware and safety facilities, Enware celebrated its 75th anniversary this August, with a barbecue and cake cutting ceremony at its expanded Caringbah facility.

Managing director Adam Degnan said: "The future of Enware is about our individual success, it's about our families, about the local communities we work in and for the customers at the heart of what we do. It's all of these groups that have made Enware a great brand and such an important part of the manufacturing and commercial plumbing scene in Australia and the world."

Enware staff were joined at the event by Deputy Mayor of the Sutherland Shire Kevin Schreiber, who reiterated how important local manufacturing businesses like Enware are to the Shire. "I'm glad you decided to stay in Caringbah, you're one of our longest surviving local businesses and we need you here in our community," Mr Schreiber said.

Today, Enware employs approximately 170 people in Australia, with a further 30 in its Singapore, Dubai and India offices to help export its technologies into South-East Asia and the Middle East. The product range has expanded considerably over the years, but still has a niche focus for laboratory, schools, hospitals and food service. Some of its best known products include electronic tapware, thermostatic mixing valves, emergency deluge showers, and emergency eyewash systems.

"Enware now turns over each day what it turned over in a year, when we first took over the company," said Mr Degnan. "It's not often you get to say this at a 75th, but we're looking forward to the next 75 years!"
