PTI reported that US car maker Ford has registered a 42.2% growth in its total sales in December 2012 to 10,899 units from 7,663 units in the same month of 2011.
A company statement said that in the domestic market, it sold 6,517 units in December against 5,978 units.
However, sales of cars in the overseas market surged 160% to 4,382 from 1,685 units. year to date exports stood at 30,435 units, up 35%.
Mr Joginder Singh MD of Ford India said that “Despite a tough business environment, we have seen record exports and sustained customer interest in December.”
The statement said that Ford India currently has 250 sales and service outlets in the country and plans to double it by the middle of this decade.
